Here are our assignments
for our raft trip and some instructions on how we have things set
up:
-
When we arrive at camp, everyone
should help set up the kitchen before setting up their tents so
the cook crew can get started on dinner. Most kitchen stuff will
be on Tom’s boat which will have the big kitchen box and lunch
cooler.
-
3 people on cook crew and the camps
start at dinner then breakfast and lunch the next day. You are
on for three days in a row. The idea is a new person comes on
each camp and is trained by the two people who have already been
on the crew the day before. One person usually pulls the food
from the coolers and crates using the boat maps we write up when
we rig the rafts. The food in the cooler is marked by the camp
number. Breakfast dishes are put in a heavy duty garbage bag
and placed in the big kitchen box to be washed by the clean up
crew when we first get to the next camp. Everyone needs to wash
their hands before preparing food and before eating dinner. We
don’t want people getting sick.
-
2 people are on toilet crew for 2
days with a new person coming on each camp. As with the cook
crew, the new person gets trained by the person who was on the
day before. The toilet crew is responsible for setting up the
hand washing stations both by the toilet and the kitchen. The
toilet should be set up right away when we get to camp. The
toilet crew should not help in the kitchen and should wash their
hands after the toilet is set up.
-
2 people are on clean up crew with a
new person coming on each camp. As with the cook crew, the new
person gets trained by the person who was on the day before.
When we get to camp and have the kitchen and toilet set up, the
clean up crew will do the breakfast dishes. For dinner the crew
should eat first so they can set up the 4 pots for people to
clean their dishes when people are done eating. If the cook
crew burns a pot, they are responsible for cleaning it not the
clean up crew.
-
Each camp box has a lunch bag and
during breakfast the cook crew needs to pull stuff including any
utensils and the menu needed for lunch and place it in the lunch
bag which then goes in the lunch cooler.
