7/1-4 Annual Backpack, Lake Chelan NRA, fly to Portland, ride with TL, stay at Ed & Marilyn's
7/1 Tom takes catamaran & gets permit, board Lady of the Lake II in Manson, win at Schneider with Holly & Sam, 4 hrs ride to Stehekin, shuttle ride to bakery, 2.7mi to Rainbow Bridge campsites, Sam sees small bear, non-Strauchs 4.9mi to Rainbow Ford
7/2 all pack to Rainbow Meadows Group camp, dayhike up NE slope, campfires, mosquitos, cool night
7/3 dayhike to Rainbow Lake, pass 6230, 6840+; most continue to 7424 BM McGregor & loop back to lake, Sandalee Glacier just snowfields, walkie-talkies, Schneider on groundcloths
7/4 pack out 9.1 miles to bakery, TL sees bear, long ferry ride & more Schneider, TJSH head east, dinner in Leavenworth at the Mozart Cafe, Portland at 2:30am, poor Alaska Air flight via San Jose & American Airlines
