  6/30-7/4 23rd Annual Backpack, Wallowa Mtns, NE Oregon, fly to Portland, half
        day with Elizabeth, Tim & Julie; ride in van with Tom, Rocky & Katie
        to Wallowa Lake CG, Janet & Holly stay back

  7/1 - Ice Lake, 8mi, 3200' gain, mosquitos a nuisance for whole trip

  7/2 - climb Matterhorn 9826' from ridge on W saide of lake, TTS&K
        continue N on ridge, T&S make it to Sacajawea Pk 9838', return to
        camp with R, others return on N side of lake, 8 hrs, 2000+ gain, 2½ hr
        thunder & lightning storm at 7:20pm

  7/3 - dry out, pack up, back to Wallowa Lake Tr, much fallen timber N
        of Ice L jct, Lake Basin Tr, one tent at Horseshoe L, mosquitoes bad,
        pick up good trail on N side of Lake then Douglas L, nice campsite

  7/4 - much snow hiking, Mirror L half frozen, E Lostine River Valley
        with much snow for 2-3 miles, 6 hrs, out at 1pm, lunch & showers at
        Wallowa SP, back to Portland at 9:15
