      4: met Tom in lot, shuttle bus to TH, River Trail, Olaine Lake, lunch
      at Shadow Lake, John Muir Tr to Rosalie Lake, set up camp, dayhike to
      Gladys L & 2940+m, record numbers of backpackers hiking out
      5: back to Shadow L, Shadow Creek Tr to Ediza Lake, make camp before
      noon, Ed falls in creek approaching camp - saves camera, dayhike to
      Nydiver Lakes, loop back with T&Z, no fires, watch moon rise twice
      6: dayhike to Iceberg Lake, snowfields & icebergs, T&Z continue to
      Cecile & Minaret Lakes, Ed returns to camp & hikes to Nydiver Lakes,
      contour to Cabin Lake with N&L, N backtracks for camera, follow
      trail back to Shadow Creek, solo around N side of Ediza, predict
      moonrise at 9:12, actual 8:40 again
      7: pack to Garnet Lake, Ziv falls in Ediza inlet creek - camera
      recovers in a couple hours, solo shortcut to JMT following GPS trail,
      many hikers, camp past 1st peninsula, separated hiker John looking
      for Baja Bob Vinton, slow pace, cold night 28º
      8: dayhike with T&Z to N Glacier Pass 11,300', head up to pass N of
      camp, E&N hike down to river trail & loop around to 1000 Island Lake,
      find grave at 3160m, view of Lake Catherine, T scouts Banner-Ritter
      Saddle, helocopter training around peaks,  Larry catches up in pass,
      return with Z via E ridge & slope, regroup in saddle W of Garnet L
      9: pack out, L&Z stay extra day, NE to River Tr, T hikes ahead &
      visits Devils Postpile, 5 hr hike, showers ant Mammoth Mtn Inn $5,
      lunch at CarlsJr, Coldwater CG, beers at Clocktower Cellar, 28º
      10: drive home with passenger Neal, witness crash at Kramer Jct, flat
      tire shreds 5min later, home at 5pm
