04/25-05/03/2009 Week trip to Costa Rica visiting Matt. Sunday tour San Jose the capital and do Britt coffee plantation tour; dinner with Matt's host family Marvin, Margarita and Kevin in Curridabat; that night in San Carlos on the way to Volcan Arenal; Monday lunch in La Fortuna and then a full day at Rancho Margot, an organic, self-supporting ranch right on the side of Volcan Arenal, our favorite spot; Tuesday do zip lines across the jungle canopy and drive around Laguna de Arenal on the way to St Elena and Monteverde; Wednesday hike some trails in Reserva Biologica Monteverde; head down to the heat and coast in Guanacaste on Playa Grande and Tamarindo in the Pacific; stay with an Aunt of one of Matt's Costa Rican friends; Thursday back to cooler weather and stay at a lodge at 7200 feet near Volcan Poas; Friday hike in Volcan Poas National Park and then head for the Caribbean coast and Puerto Limon; stay in Manzanillo; Saturday swim in the Atlantic then head back to Alajuela in the central valley; fly back Sunday.
