9/8-11/2016 Another good trip in the Sierra’s, 15 of us this year Ed, Terry, Jock, John, Gary, Carol, Leslie, Sharon, Mark, Mike, Ziv, Art, Larry and Hawk. Larry and I took a side trip up Black Hawk Mountain spending a night at Mosquito Pass. I had a long hike out because I pulled a muscle right after dropping down from Gem Lake. I had to side step down all the steps and limp on the straight trails. I was fine going uphill but of course there was a lot of downhill. If I did not have my poles, I would have been in trouble especially with the full pack. Luckily I love a challenge. But I made it back to the trailhead fine by 2pm and back to Salem by 1:30am. No rollover this time! Slideshow

9/3-5/2016 North Sister climb with the Santiam Alpine Club on the luau weekend. This is the most technical climb of the Sisters. We did a fixed rope across the ‘traverse’ near the top then got up 100 feet vertical from the top and hit a chute called ‘bowling alley’ which was covered in thick ice. Our trip leader said it would be too difficult even with ropes so we called it a day. Still a fun climb! Slideshow

8/16/2016 Goat Rocks Wilderness south of Mt Rainier hike 13 miles 2000 feet Snowgrass Flats, Goat Lake and Goat Ridge loop without Tim and his FFOF group and saw 43 backpackers and 10 day hikers and that does not include Tim's group of 15 who I met after the hike at the other trailhead. Slideshow

8/6&13/2016 Kayaking with Ramesh where the Salmon River flows into the Pacific at Three Rocks; Mt Thielsen climb with the Santiam Alpine Club Mika, Dana, Adrian (Christine was there too) and Rich, 3600 feet 10 miles 9 hours using a fixed rope and prusiks to get to the very top. Slideshow

7/21-24&28/2016 Long weekend visiting Bridgette at her cabin in Coram, MT and Glacier National Park; Highline Trail hike near Logan Pass 1000 feet 8 miles with Tim and Janet; Lower Quartz Lake hike from Bowman Lake 2000 feet 8 miles with Tim and Janet; babysitting Aaron alone while the girls are at Girl Scout Camp for Julie and Tim's anniversary.
