11/30&12/7&14&17&21&23&25-26/2020 Hart's Cove hike 8 miles 1400 feet on the coast; Hamilton Mt and Hardy Falls hike in the gorge 9 miles 2200 feet; pork roast and sauerkraut lunch with Earl and Linda just our second house guests since covid; runway 16 approach Albany Airport with Ramesh in Cessna 172 Skyhawk at dusk; Bob Straub State Park beach hike 6 miles 100 feet; first snowboarding/skiing for the season at Hoodoo; Christmas dinner just the two of us (we cancelled our Chicago trip not because of covid but Laura had emergency eye surgery for a detached retina); day after Christmas food and gift swap just like we did at Thanksgiving with Aaron, Addy, Liz, Julie and Tim at their house in Portland; broke ground 12/14 on Matt and Olivia's new house (blueprint) in Naperville, 12/16 foundation forms, 12/22 foundation poured and cured; Matt gets covid-19 vaccine. 10/26&11/1-2&9&11&16&26-27/2020 Browder Ridge hike 8 miles 1800 feet; Approach to runway 34 in Salem and then soft field grass landing in Lenhardt with Ramesh in Cessna 172 Skyhawk; Mt Bachelor hike (west of the Cascades) 6 miles 1700 feet; Roadsend hike 6 miles 1000 feet on the coast; Cape Horn hike 7 miles 1000 feet in the gorge; Thanksgivng dinner just the two of us and then that Friday did a Thanksgiving food swap with Aaron, Addy, Liz, Julie and Tim outside their house in Portland, first time we visited them in-person since our raft trip in June. 9/28&10/5&18&19/2020 Rooster Rock 4 miles 2100 feet east of Sweet Home; Green Peter Lake and Dam; Iron Mt loop 5 miles 1400 feet; Salem runway 16 approach with Ramesh in a Cessna 172 Skyhawk; Crescent Mt 9 miles 2200 feet; Santiam Canyon Wildfire on the way to Crescent Mt drove up Route 22 for the first time since they opened it up last week after the wildfires. They say they had to cut down over 20,000 trees before they could reopen the road. I believe it. There were piles of trees all along Santiam Canyon. Idanha had little damage and so did Mill City and Gates a few house burnt down but Detroit took the brunt of it. It is pretty sad to see all the damage. Google Photos Slideshow
