8/23&24&26-29&9/6&7&10-12&17-19&21/2021 C2C bike-hike trail from Corvallis to the Sea first 11.5 miles (25 miles bike ride 1000 feet); Laura's back surgery fusing L3, L4, L5 and S1 with titanium screws; Matt and Kelsey fly in for a long weekend to help Laura recover from back surgery plus Julie and family come for a lasagna dinner and we all watch Akhenaten; fig fruit basket from Lee, Tula and Blanca and their garden for Laura; Next section of C2C bike-hike trail 6 miles (12 miles bike ride 1000 feet); Bridgette and Dennis stop by on their two week motorcycle trip; Third section of C2C bike-hike trail 6 miles (12 miles bike ride 1300 feet); fun weekend with Aaron, Addy and Liz while Julie and Tim take a weekend at the coast, Wings and Waves water park, Aaron little league game and 2 Avenger movies; 21st Annual Sierra trip, last year's got cancelled because of smoke, while this year had smoke too it cleared up on day 2 and 3, first day we checked out Bodie State Park which is an old gold/silver mining ghost town which put out 100 million dollars worth of gold/silver and had a town population of 10,000 people back in the late 1800s, cool town and great mining tour with the rangers doing a great job giving the history, John found three geocaches, 5 miles 200 feet walk with Carol, Mark, Art, Mike, John and Jim exploring the town; Day 2 an 8 mile 500 feet hike Twenty Lakes Basin with Joel, Mike's son joining the 7 of us; Day 3 Rock Creek trail 6 miles 1000 feet having a delicious lunch at Rock Creek Lodge including peach and mixed berry pies ala mode, a great way to finish off our Sierra trip; fly to Pacific City on the coast in a Cessna 172 Skyhawk with Ramesh. 8/2&5&8&9/2021 Marion Mt hike 10 miles 2000 feet Marion Lake and Ann Lake with nice falls Marion and Gatch on unmarked and unmaintained trail but worth the side hike; Mt Hood hike 8 miles 3200 feet with Ziv and Elle up Cooper Spur looking down on Elliot Glacier. Trailhead starts near Cloud Cap Inn and we did a loop over to Tilly Jane A-Frame climbing up to 9000 feet; 3rd Annual Kayak and Paddleboard: Six of us did the 10 mile float from Buena Vista to Independence in 4 hours. The weather was nice with partly sunny skies. Jessica, Brian and Matt on paddle boards and Jennifer, David and me on kayaks. We met Ramesh, Swapna, Laura and Shri at Riverview Park for more water fun in Independence; Marion and Gatch falls hike 5 miles 1000 feet and short loop along Marion Lake. Google Photos

7/17-26/2021 Visit Matt and family in Chicago and help them move in their new house (4279 Lacebark Lane) in Naperville with Colin, Liam, Olivia, Matt, Belinda and Henry; we all had a fun time together first in the hotel and then their new house, swimming, playing basketball, kayaking, bicycling, unpacking, putting things together, blessing the house and watching the Olympics; thanks to Olivia for most of the photos.
