1/3&4&9&17&19&19&22-25/2022 Hart's Cove hike 4 miles 500 feet from the north trail on the coast; getting our new quartz countertops, now we only need our backsplash which scheduled for Feb 11 install; skiing and snowboarding with Ramesh and Pranav at Hoodoo; Hamilton Mt, Hardy and Rodney Falls hike 8 miles 2200 feet in the gorge; Tom's 70th birthday beef roast dinner; 4 days of great skiing in Utah with an old friend Dick who I had not seen in 35 years at Solitude, Brighton, Alta and Snowbird; took Dick to Temple Square in Salt Lake City to see the Assembly Hall, the Mormon Tabernacle and the new Conference Center that holds 21,000 people. 12/6&13&17&18&19&20-31/2021 The old oak tree at SAIF's back courtyard that got damaged in last year's ice storm and now will be made into conference tables. They used a 7 foot long chain saw; Cape Lookout hike 4 miles 500 feet very stormy on the coast; Wakeena and Multnomah Falls loop hike 5 miles 1500 feet in the gorge; Beyond Van Gogh event in Portland and then celebrate early Christmas with Aaron, Addy, Liz, Julie and Tim; Willamette Valley Winery tour with Jean, Wendy and Chris and Jean became a owner (bought some shares) so she could get a good deal on wine; fun Christmas in Chicago with Colin, Liam , Olivia and Matt: a lot of activities, bowling, climbing gym, neighborhood playground, Chicago Botanic Garden Lightscape, Morton Arboretum Illumination, a visit from Grinch and Santa Claus at Christmas party with neighbor family, Christmas Eve dinner with Belinda and Henry, day after Christmas family party with Frankie, Lucas, Jen and BJ, brought in the New Years with Liam, Olivia and Matt (Colin was already in bed) and a champagne toast. 11/20-21&25&29/2021 First Thanksgiving with family since covid the Saturday before including Aaron, Addy, Liz, Dylan, Julie, Tim L, Holly, Michael, Sam, Janet, Tim S, Christine and Mark; two Schneider's games going at the same time; Sunday before Thanksgiving a family trip to the Japanese Garden in Portland; second Thanksgiving dinner on the actual day at Julie's with Tom and Veronica; 7 mile 1200 feet Cape Horn hike in the gorge and fog, saw a gray whale in the Columbia River but by the time I got my camera out it dived down and did not return; fall volleyball team first season since covid. 9/27&10/4&11&18&25&11/1&8/2021 Kitchen remodel picking alder cabinets and quartz counter top, demo-ing kitchen, installing new cabinets, having floors sanded and refinished, still waiting for counter top that is back ordered and then we will pick out a new back splash, moved a set of old cabinets to garage to use for better storage; finished C2C bike-hike trail from Corvallis to the Sea in 8 different segments total of 63.7 miles (127.4 back and forth): 4th segment Woods Creek Road, Shot Pouch Trail Road, Shot Pouch Road and Sugar Bowl Creek – 7 miles 500 feet (14 miles back and forth); 5th segment Harlan Road and Grant Creek Trail – 6 miles 400 feet (12 miles back and forth); 6th segment Grant Creek, Hogback, Branch Creek, Bull Run Trails, Gopher Ridge Road and Gopher Creek Trail – 8 miles 1000 feet (16 miles back and forth); 7th segment Palmer Mountain Trail and FS Road 5083 – 9 miles 500 feet (18 miles back and forth); 8th segment FS Road 5081 to Peterson Creek Trail and Hitselberger Road, Wolkau Road, Hitselberger Trail, Hancock Road, North Beaver Creek Road and the end of the C2C trail at Ona Beach – 10.2 miles 700 feet (20 miles back and forth); fly into Corvallis with Ramesh in Cessna 172 Skyhawk; Brian Booth State Park hike 6 miles 400 feet in the rain; kayak up Beaver Creek 8 miles from Ona Beach and saw a beaver close up.
