2/26&3/4&7&11&18&22-27/2024 Cape Meares hike 4.2 miles 900 feet near Tillamook on the coast, Lighthouse, Big Spruce and Octopus Trees; snowboarding and skiing 11 runs 11,126 feet at Mt Hood Meadows with 7 inches of fresh powder; flight down to Albany for touch and go with Ramesh in Cessna Skyhawk 172; Lasagna dinner with Julie and Liz on their way to Duck Day at the University of Oregon where Liz will be going next fall to attend the Honors College; Starvation Creek Falls hike 5.2 miles in the gorge, Cabin Creek Falls, Hole-in-wall Falls and Lancaster Falls; Bayocean Peninsula hike 8 miles 100 feet north of Cape Meares and the location of a resort town back in the early 1900s; Matt and family come to Oregon for spring break; dinner at the Old Spaghetti Factory in Portland after getting off the plane; Silver Falls hike 2 miles 200 feet with Colin, Liam, Olivia and Matt; Lasagna dinner with Colin, Liam, Aaron, Addy, Liz, Matt, Olivia, Julie and Tim, ping pong and Schneider card game; Matt's 44th birthday; trip to the coast for an overnight in Newport, Oregon Aquarium with Behind the Scenes Tour, Sea lions hanging out on dock, Ripley's Believe or Not and Wax Museum, Yaquina Bay Lighthouse; Wings and Waves Waterpark in McMinnville; Cheese Soufflé dinner and Swapna's delicious Chicken Curry which Ramesh and Malvika brought (Swapna was not feeling well); Oaks Park Amusement Park in Portland to celebrate Liam's 12th birthday. 1/7&87&15-16&19&20&22&29&2/5&12&22/2024 Quick flight down to Lebanon for some touch and goes with Ramesh in a Cessna Skyhawk 172; first day of snowboarding and skiing with decent snow for this season (no good snow before new years) at Mt Hood Meadows; Bekah and Danny with their new baby girl Indigo Rose, very cute; Kelsey and Ryan at one of her art showings in New York; cheese soufflé dinner with Aaron, Addy, Liz, Julie and Tim when they had to spent a couple nights in Salem because their power was out in Portland, it was fun; snowboarding at Hoodoo in the fog with Ramesh; Tom's 72nd birthday; Cape Lookout hike 4.5 miles 1200 feet on the coast; Dry Creek Falls hike 4 miles 1000 feet all in the snow in the gorge; Netarts Spit hike 11 miles 100 feet on the coast and found a bunch of sand dollars; 8 miles 2200 feet hike Hamilton Mt, Rodney and Hardy Falls Washington side of the gorge; a couple trips to Hoodoo for skiing and snowboarding, one with Aaron, Addy, Liz, Maya, Julie and Tim (sorry no pics) and the second one with Ramesh.
