3/9&15&16&17&18&20-29&4/3-13/2026 Hart's Cove hike 3.4 miles 700 feet on the coast near Cascade Head; A fun Blessing Chimanga Marimba concert at Grand Theater in Salem, Blessing is a friend of Janet and Tim's; Mt Hamilton, Rodney and Hardy Falls hike 8 miles 2400 feet in the gorge on the Washington side; flight with Ramesh to McMinnville in Cessna 172 Skyhawk; Tom's SAIF retirement ping ping party with an autographed paddle presented and online card; Kelsey's new apartment in Bushwick (Brooklyn); Kelsey's studio close by to her apartment; last dinner out before the cruise with Kelsey and Ryan;
7 day cruise to the Bahamas with Kelsey, Ryan and Anthony; we were in the exclusive Yacht Club section on our ship MSC Meraviglia which had its own dining room, indoor lounge and outdoor lounge on the front of the ship; saw a lot of good shows on the ship; Ryan led a Body Arts session each morning on the ship; spent a day at Cape Canaveral a week before the Artemis II launch; spent a day on Ocean Cay island snorkeling with Kelsey and Ryan; we saw a lot of neat tropical fish and an old shipwreck; spent a day in Nassau doing a walking tour with Kelsey, Ryan and Anthony, the Queens Staircase, Ardastra Gardens & Wildlife Conservation Centre and a lot of tourist shops then sailedback to NYC; Special thanks to Anthony for his generosity who invited all of us on the cruise: Ryan lead two Body Art sessions on top of the Freedom Tower with about 70 people each session; took the train to Ossining to visit Eddie and Jeanne and we enjoyed a good lunch with them;
9 day trip to Greece, flew into Athens, spent an hour in line at Passport Control (non-EU); picked up our rental car, hit a bunch of traffic and headed to Meteora to our very nice Airbnb; toured the 12th century Orthodox monastery Great Meteora and nunnery St Stephen driving a big loop past other monasteries way up on top of big cliffs, very impressive; after good lunch in town, drove to our next Airbnb (very nice too) in Ioannina where we spent two nights; the place was on the 4th floor and had nice views of the lake from the patio; took a short boat ride (mostly locals) on Lake Pamvotida to an island with Ali Pasha Museum and some more 15th century Orthodox monasteries; Ali Pasha was beheaded by the Ottomans in the 19th century with his head being brought to the Sultan as he requested; we smelled fresh bread at one of the monasteries Filanthropinon and then one of the nuns brought us some bread to try; the Byzantine-era 13th century church had nice frescos; good lunch before heading back on the boat; next morning we headed to Igoumenitsa to catch a ferry to Corfu leaving the rental car parked at the port; one night at our least favorite Airbnb but it was close to the ferry; spent the next day on a walking tour of the old town Corfu; climbed up Palaio Frourio with nice views of Corfu; saw a brief concert in Church of St George; visited Church of Agios Spyridon; we had a good lunch at Chrisomalis, a favorite restaurant of the Durrell family; next morning caught the ferry back and headed to Delphi for 2 nights at another nice Airbnb right by the water; Google Maps and Apple Maps did not always work well so we got pretty lost when it sent us to a spot 20 miles away but we always seemed to find our way back ok; toured the ancient ruins at Delphi which is perched way up in the mountains on a steep slope; very nice museum after walking the steep steps of the ruins; lunch in the town which was recommended by our guide book Lonely Planet; we thought the guide book was very good and we followed one of their itineraries; the last 2 days we spent in Athens, doing the Acropolis with tons of tourist and the new Acropolis museum, all very impressive; our last day we took the subway into town and did the 2 hour double-decker bus tour of Athens, so many sights to see; watched the changing of the guard at Tomb of the Unknown Soldier in Syntagma Square in front of the parliament building; last and another good lunch down the walking street from Syntagma Square; our Airbnb (close to the airport and another good one) host Micheala drove to the airport at 2am for our early flight back thru Belgrade with a long layover and 10 hour flight to JFK; spent two nights with Kelsey and Ryan and did another Body Art session on top of the Freedom Tower; flew back to Oregon getting in late; It was a great trip but always nice to get back in your own bed.
